The Think Literacy blog was created as part of the outreach component of an adult literacy non-profit called Literacy Volunteers of Coconino County – The Literacy Center. The objective of this blog was to engage donors and volunteers with the work happening at TLC and to provide a space for a larger conversation about the often overlooked topic of adult literacy. Here are a few posts I wrote for this blog:
- Welcome and Why Literacy Matters
- What if Cameron Diaz Couldn’t Read? In Her Shoes and Adult Literacy
- Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon and TLC
- William Meredith’s “The Illiterate” – A Portrait of an Illiterate Adult
- “Not Their 8th Grade Teacher with a Red Pen in Each Hand” – The Joel Kefuss Approach to Teaching ESL
